DIY MOISTURIZING EXFOLIANT

If you want to give your skin a boost and get the most out of your daily skin care products, consider using a facial mask once to twice a week. Masks can help exfoliate dead skin cells, draw out impurities, unclog pores, tighten your skin and provide additional moisture, allowing your daily products to work more effectively. The best part is that unlike other skin care products that may be challenging to make at home, you can use everyday items in your kitchen to make a customized mask!

During the cold winter months, skin can become dry and itchy. Creams and lotions can’t penetrate your skin to provide moisture if dead skin cells are acting as a barrier. Here is a super easy DIY moisturizing exfoliant facial mask that will exfoliate your skin and add moisture, leaving your skin soft and supple!

Ingredients and purpose:

¼ of an avocado (mashed with fork) – super moisturizing
1 slice of lemon (squeezed juice) – exfoliates and moisturizes
½ tablespoon of olive oil – cleans and nourishes skin
1 tablespoon of honey – kills germs and is anti-inflammatory

Directions:

Use fork or spoon or both to mix ingredients in a bowl. So simple!

Before you apply, take a warm wet towel and hold over your washed face for 2-3 minutes. This will open up your pores.
Use your fingers or a synthetic foundation brush to apply. The mask may drip, so be sure to have a shirt that you can wash.
Relax for 10-15 minutes. Wash well with warm water. Apply moisturizer.

Works really well the first time, and I have continued to do one twice a week and my skin has never looked better and the best  part is it's all natural. Everything you can find in your kitchen. I'm a huge fan of that!

BAKING SODA BLACKHEAD REMOVER

» Why It Works: This gentle, quick facial uses baking soda’s acid-neutralizing alkalinity and milk’s lactic acid to clear out pores and lightly exfoliate.
» You’ve Been Warned: After years of store-bought lotions and potions, this seemed almost too simple to work — but it did.
» You’ll Need:
- 1 tbsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup milk
» What to Do: Mix all the ingredients together. Rub into blackhead-prone areas using a soft makeup sponge. Rinse and repeat if needed.

2)
Mix ingredients in a food processor or blender when possible to remove large clumps.TIPS:
1) Body scrubs can get messy in the tub or shower. Place a plastic bag at the drain to catch what falls and avoid clogs.
3) Use fresh, organic produce to ensure potions are pesticide-and preservative-free.
4) For a foot scrub, hop up on the kitchen counter and apply it in the sink. Any gunky debris will end up in the garbage disposal, making cleanup much easier.

6 NEW USES FOR ICE CUBES

1. Soup Skimmer
To skim excess fat from soup without refrigerating it, fill a metal ladle with ice cubes and glide it along the surface a few times, wiping the ladle as needed. Excess fat will cling to the ladle's bottom (and not yours).

2. Soil Soaker
Water your plants without leaving them in the sink to drain by covering the surface of the soil with ice cubes. They'll gradually hydrate your Hedera (that's Ivy) as they melt.

3. Caulk Smoother
As you squeeze a new caulk line around a bathtub, run the corner of a cube behind it. The ice will create a clean edge without sticking.

4. Brow Soother
A few minutes before you tweeze, rub an ice cube over your brows to numb the skin, then dry. Post-plucking, ice again to minimize redness.

5. Disposal Scrubber
Run a handful of ice cubes and a pinch of baking soda through your garbage disposal. You'll get rid of the build-up grease on the blades and the leftover smell of.....leftover.

6. Handheld A/C
When the summer heat is stifling, hold a piece of ice on the underside of your wrist. As the blood flows, through that chilly pulse point, your body temperature will slowly drop.
